I was reading some interesting articles recently about matte painting and projection mapping, and rather tangentially came across a great tutorial for creating aerial panoramas from Google Earth.
Here’s the result of some experimentation with the technique, from above Todmorden in the Upper Calder Valley. This is what it would look like if you were 500 metres above the Town Hall. Until I take up hot air ballooning this is probably the only way I’ll see this view.
