Looking out from Pendle Hill

Getting closer to the sky; the view from astride the saddle of Pendle hill. Looking towards the village of Sabden: shot on the first warm weekend of spring, with clouds scudding eastwards across the pennines. Although you can barely see them here, paragliders were riding thermals rising from the Ribble valley and up the slopes. The historic Forest of Pendle is perhaps best known for giving its name to a famous witch trial in 1612.
