Spring is coming …

This collapsed dry stone wall lies on the boundary of the wonderful Yorkshire Sculpture Park at West Bretton, near Wakefield. Further along this wall lie three stone enclosures by the renowned landscape artist Andy Goldsworthy, but as far as I know this section of the stone wall is just broken, rather than an art piece. I loved the textures and lighting in this scene, officially the first day of spring.

Snowdrops: the first sign of spring?

It’s been a fairly harsh winter, so it was a welcome sight to stumble across this hidden glade filled with snowdrops in Studley Royal Park. I don’t think I’ve ever seen so many snowdrops in one place before … wonderful!
